I just got back from my first Bellydance workshop. It was taught by Amani Jabril of ATL. The workshop had two sessions: Khalichi section, that featured movements done in the coastal region of Iraq. The second session was about different styles of bellydance. The teacher took one move and them taught it in different styles. It demonstrated how the different movements, placement of weight, oomph added to the same set of steps can make the steps look different.
I am really tired today, so will keep writing about the workshop.
BUT It was great and I hope to get a chance to do more of these!
